Commentary Mo' On Radio News — 22 June 2014

I was amazed at all of the discussion of the term ‘Redskin’ and why/why not it is offensive this week.  Given that it was a slur in 1932, it’s still a slur in 2014.  On Saturday’s show I laid out the history and laid waste to the hypocrisy. It’s fine to have an opinion, but an informed one is even better.

Not all things are debatable.  This would be one of those times.

Also, not everyone is happy that the Central Park 5 have been awarded $40M for being wrongly accused, wrongly convicted and wrongly imprisoned for ranges of 7-13 years.  I had a few words for Donald Trump and his continuing ignorance.

Before I finished with my more serious commentaries, I had some words for L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, who thought it would be “cool” to consciously and with pre-meditation hold up a beer and shout the F-word in front of 20,000 people from a microphone as part of the L.A. Kings Stanley Cup celebration.

In hour 2, we have our customary segments of “Nerd-O-Rama” and “When Animals Attack”…but we also will give you another good reason to never eat pork again.

Ever…
