Commentary — 09 May 2011

I am the least racist person there is.  And I think most people who know me would tell you that. I am the least racist, I’ve had great relationships.”

In fact, Randal Pinkett won as you know on ‘The Apprentice’ a little while ago, a couple of years ago,” he said. And Randall’s been outstanding in every way. So I am the least racist person.”

– The Donald (on Fox & Friends)

If he’s “the least”…God help us all.

So then…

If you follow Donnie’s logic…because he has great relationships (in his mind) with “The Blacks,” ergo he’s not racist.  Also, because an African-American won his reality TV show, that too is proof he’s not racist.

His commentary only proves he is an idiot of staggering proportions.

No amount of money in the world will ever change that.  Racism and ignorance are inextricably linked.  One does not need to be self-aware to be a racist or subject to racist behavior.

The non-racist thing would have been opening up the dialogue on the breath and depth of his behavior.  He in no way acknowledges the historical implications or connections to his public questioning of the president’s birthplace and educational qualifications.

He deserves every bit of heat he is now receiving in return.  If he kept his presidential politics to just that, the political spectrum there would be nothing to argue.  Instead, he took the low road and is now surprised that mud is now flung back in his face.
